The Women Program has set up a specific type of training to achieve its objectives: the sensitization session.
The sessions are conducted directly to people in 17 provinces in Cambodia: Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Kampot, Koh Kong, Takeo, Prey Veng, Svay Rieng, Kampong Cham, Kampong Thom, Siem Reap, Poi Pet, Pursat, Kandal, Kratie, Preah Vihear, Pailin and Phnom Penh.
The sensitization course is a short session conducted for grassroot people and local authorities, and includes the following topics:
– Women’s rights
– Gender
– Causes of domestic violence, rape, trafficking and actions to prevent and reduce all forms of violence against women
– Respect for women’s rights and equality between women and men
– New DV law and chapters of criminal law relating to women and children.
