National Training on ASEAN Human Rights Mechanism

on 13th-14th December 2011 at Le Royal Hotel, Phnom Penh

In December ADHOC and the Cambodian Human Rights Action Committee (CHRAC) jointly organized the national workshop on ASEAN Human Rights Mechanism for the training of trainers from local NGOs, thanks to support from Forum-Asia.

The objectives of this training were:

  • To enhance the knowledge, skills and capacity of national and local civil society organizations, community organizations and people’s movements in engaging with the ASEAN Human Rights Mechanism
  • To enhance the capacity of local trainers and resource persons by providing opportunity for those who attended the regional training of trainers on ASEAN advocacy to implement the knowledge and skills on ASEAN advocacy that they learned through jointly conducting the national training with FORUM-ASIA’s trainers.

The participants represented the following 20 local organizations: ADHOC, Forum-Asia, American Bar Association, SDOK, YFP, CVS, Star Kampuchea, Silaka, Nifcet, CDP, NGO CRC, NGOs Forum, Comfrel, ANSA, Youth for Peace, YRDP, Caram, and CHRAC.
