Land conflicts are civil cases that require a long process and complicated procedure to solve.
A two-pronged strategy is applied:
– First, monitoring and investigation are led on a case-by-case basis; and
– Second, workshops to raise awareness on land policies, mechanisms of land conflict settlement and alternative conflict resolution are intended for many participants including local authorities, cadastral commission members, representatives of institutions involved, victims of land conflicts and other stakeholders.
ADHOC cooperates with NGOs/IOs and Land Law Working Group to assist the National and Provincial Land Dispute Settlement Commissions in the monitoring of the process of land conflict resolution, and also to share comments in regard to draft sub-decrees on Cadastral Commission by Ministry of Land Management, Urban, Planning and Construction.
