Prison Monitoring

ADHOC continues to monitor the situation of the prison throughout the country. A monthly interview with convicted and non-convicted people is conducted to collect information about the prison condition, treatment of prisoners, prolonged pre-trial detention and allegations of torture. The data will be referred to relevant government authorities for action. Legal assistance will be provided to prisoners. The collection of information about the prison condition is achieved through responses to questionnaires prepared by Monitoring Section. ADHOC continues to provide material assistance to prisoners. ADHOC also urges the authorities of Provincial/ Municipal prisons to improve the prison condition in cooperation with other human rights NGOs.
