Friday Women Group, on August 26, 2022, shaving their heads after the prison sent their husbands from Phnom Penh to Trapeang Phlong Prison, Tbong Khmum Province, near the border on Vietnam. According to them, the shaving aiming to pray for justice for her husband, either eco for Cambodian to have fully respects for human rights, due to they do not have any truthfulness with judicial system anymore. They have asked these two embassies to intervene with the government to release their husbands. Representatives of the two embassies expressed deep regret over the lack of release and sent them away from their families, and representatives of both embassies continued to monitor and raise the issue during a meeting with the government.
ADHOC-Cambodia observed that more than 20 uniformed and some plainclothes authorities monitored their activities and either banned this group from walking to the US Embassy and required them to use Tuk Tuk instead. Gently notified that on August 21, 2022, the General Department of Prisons transferred 14 CNRP activists from Phnom Penh to Trapeang Phlong Prison in Tbong Khmum Province. The families of these former opposition party believes that sending their families to Trapeang Phlong prison is a bad intention of the government to further persecute political activists.
