The Cambodian Human Rights and Development Association (ADHOC) is honored to inform the public, national and international civil society organizations, embassies, national and international journalists that at 8:00pm, November 4th 2022, the Supreme Court will hear the appeals of three (3) senior ADHOC staffs, including Mr. Ny Sokha, Mr. Yi Soksan and Ms. Lim Mony, another two (2) former ADHOC officials. Mr. Nay Vanda and Mr. Ny Chakrya, who were previously sentenced by the court to 5 years in prison each, were sentenced to 14 (fourteen) months in prison and the rest were suspended on charges of “witness bribery”. By the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) on April 27, 2016 under Article 548 of the Criminal Code of the Kingdom of Cambodia and was sent to prison on May 1, 2016 until June 29, 2017. The five appealed to the Court of Appeal at the end of 2018 to seek justice and give them honor. Then, on the afternoon of April 28, 2022, the Court of Appeal of Phnom Penh also held a hearing on the appeals of the above five people, with the Judicial Council deciding to announce the verdict at 8 am on May 23. Completely valid at the trial court verdict. Following the announcement of the verdict, three senior ADHOC staffs filed a complaint with the Supreme Court demanding their return to justice and fairness on this case.
