On the occasion of the anniversary of the Paris Peace Agreements and the upcoming visit to France by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, FIDH and its member organizations ADHOC and LICADHO, wish to convey their utmost concern over recent human rights violations in Cambodia. Such include the arbitrary arrest and imprisonment of environmental activists, political opposition members, monks and students, as well as tabled human rights-restricting draft legislation.
This open letter to French President François Hollande calls upon France to publicly condemn the serious human rights violations that have been and are still occurring in Cambodia and show its support for Cambodian dynamic and resilient civil society.
