ADHOC assistance to Civil Parties Lawyers in June 2011
Recently, the ADHOC KRT Justice project plays the important role to ensure the civil parties meaningful participation in the ECCC. ADHOC is not only supporting transportation for Civil Parties to attend the hearings before the ECCC but we are regularly keeping in close touch to inform those civil parties through our radio program every Wednesday and ADHOCs nationwide and District Meeting for Civil Parties. Furthermore, in June 2011, ADHOC staff worked to assist Civil Parties Lawyers to meet with their clients, civil parties in Case 002. These meetings are conducted separately with different Civil Party lawyers including:
- On June 14, Ms. Silke Studzinsky and Mr. Hong Kimsuon were meeting with Civil Parties in the framework of ADHOCs Civil Party Meeting they updated and met some of their clients in Phnom Srok district, Bantey MeanhChey province where around 600 kilometers from Phnom Penh.
- On June 18, Mr. Oliver Bahougne and Mr. Lor Chunthy were meeting with Civil Parties to update them and provide further assistance in Kampot province and the Civil Parties Lawyers team continued to meeting with Civil Parties in Sihanoukville province on June 19, 2011.
We, ADHOC are proceeding with our support for the Civil Parties and their participation in the ECCC and supporting the legacy of the ECCC to transform into the Cambodian Courts in the future.
