On 15 April 2010, a case of gang rape took place in Kbal Spein Village, Sangkat Poi Pet, Banteay Meanchey province. The victim is a 26 years old, Karaoke singer in Cheaydon and Mhob Khmer Chheng Men restaurant named Yoeun Sreysor. A day before the incident at 10:00 p.m. three guests had rented a karaoke room and began their singing with the victims and two of her colleagues. The guests then started to turn off the light and began to sexually abuse the victim by touching every parts of her body. Struggling, the victim managed to break free from the grips of the abusers and then ran off to inform the Karaoke manager. Unfortunately, she was insulted and blamed for not serving the guests well and ultimately got fired by the big boss without even getting paid. On her way out, she met Seng Sireth, son of the Karaoke owner and staff of Ting Crown Casino. At about 3:00 a.m. on April 15, 2010, Sireth brought the victim to another karaoke bar to sing along ten of his friends. After the singing the victims agreed to sleep with a guy named Meng Chanthon on the third floor of Ting Crown Casino. When the victim was on her way out after spending the night with Meng Chanthon, she met seven other guys who then rushed in by pushing her back into the room and started raping her one by one. After the incident, the victim demanded to know who ordered the gang to rape her. Eventually, one of the perpetrator responded that Seng Sireth is the person who ordered them to come and rape her. At about 5:00 a.m., on the same day, Seng Sireth entered and chased Yoeun Sreysor out of the room, threatening that his wife would come in any minute. After the incident the victim contacted Chea Sokun, staff of IDEA who then called up Khiev Borei, an ADHOC activist in Poi Pet who brought the victim to file complaint with the chief of gendarmerie in Poi Pet. As a result three perpetrators have arrested including Seng Sireth, the gang leader. However, the police are still tracking down the rest of the escaped perpetrators and hopefully put them behind bar for good.
